Steve Armstrong - Session
Musician and seen with Many bands. Steve Plays a selection of Dean Bass
Guitars, his latest purchase is the Dean Cabbie Steve also uses a
Dean Rhapsody 5 String and a
Dean Edge 4 "It has a great bottom end,
nice and light, easy to play and looks great. I'm realy pleased with
it".
Steve is a session bass player who has worked with many well-known
and not so well known artists and bands He started Playing guitar at 14 and
went onto bass at 19. In the early days he was working the pubs. Playing his
own music, which was mainly rock, he was influenced by bands like Rush and Iron
Maidden. As he got older he turned towards jazz and was influenced by people
like Stanley Clark, Herby Flowers and Jaco. Even a bit of Mark King Playing all
these styles made him a more versatile musician and during the 90s he played in
top clubs and venues in London backing all types of artists.
Even
though he had regular work as a backing musician he still needed to do his own
things so he took up the offer to work with a Goth band called Nosferatu and
became known as Stefan Diablo, with them he recorded several cd's and a dvd
which also involved working with rat scabies of the Dammed.
In 1998
Steve joined Bad Manners and spent several years touring and recording with
them He has recently been working with The Beat, Pato Banton and Dawn Penn.
Between them he has toured the world including Japan, The united Emirates, and
Europe, and appeared on several CD's / DVD's Steve is currently a member of The
Neville Staple band who is more know for being one of the singers in the
Specials and then Fun Boy Three, they toured Australia and New Zealand in April
and can be seen touring the U.K and aboard this summer, there are also plains
to record a new album later this year. 2006
