Dean Owners Review of
the Month
Dean Razorback Two Tone Black and Silver |
For my 21st birthday I
was bought a Dean Razorback.
Apart from looking the absolute "poodle's privates" the Razorback holds
many features which to me make it stand out over many other guitars out there.
The razorback's neck is the thinnest neck I have played with and this
ultimately makes it the fastest neck I have played on it also has a set neck
allowing it to sustain notes with ease.
I find the focal point of this
guitar are the pickups. A high powered Dean pickup at the neck and the
'Dimebucker' at the bridge. The Dimebucker pickup has a remarkably high level
of output, more normally associated with active pickups, an awesome pickup to
say the least.
The Razorback is equipped with a licensed Floyd Rose
tremolo system which allows you to do those awesome harmonic squeals that Dime
was known for. No matter how hard I play it I always know that it's going to
stay in tune.
The Guitar also has Grover machine heads, two volume pots
and a tone pot. The volume pots have an intuitive design, little holes molded
around the side which makes them easier to grip when you're soaking with sweat
on stage.
I honestly find it very hard to fault this guitar in any way,
shape or form. The only possible problem I could see is you might look a bit
daft turning up to your fortnightly jazz gathering wielding this axe!
Pure and Simple, The Razorback is possibly the most ultimate metal
guitar ever.
